What is Holistic Learning?
Traditional language learning methods often concentrate on memorization of isolated words or grammar rules. We believe that learning a language does not comprise of learning a set of disconnected facts. Languages are living systems with sophisticated relationships between sounds, words and meanings. Traditional methods in their isolated focus miss the overall big picture and they can even hinder the learners’ progress.
On the other hand, Holistic language learning encourages learners to understand words in context, to see how they interact with other words, and most important on how they are used in real life situations. It emphasizes the interconnected nature of language components and hence grasping the overall big picture.
